Munich Helles

Created in Munich in 1895 at the Spaten brewery by Gabriel Sedlmayr to compete with Pilsner-style beers.  Helles is a medium yellow, medium carbonated, smooth
malty beer that is not overly sweet with an underlying hop bitterness. Unlike the Pilsner it was competing with but more like its cousin, Munich Dunkel.

Commercial Examples:

Weihenstephaner Original, Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold, Bürgerbräu Wolznacher Hell Naturtrüb, Mahr’s Hell, Paulaner Premium Lager, Spaten Premium Lager, Stoudt’s Gold Lager

What The Beersluts have to say:

Sorry buddies, we haven’t done a proper taste test on these beers yet!!
